Jaygarcia Saturn

Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, known as one of the Five Elders, holds a prominent position in the World Government as the Warrior God of Science and Defense. Throughout the One Piece series, he emerges as one of the significant antagonists, especially in its Final Saga. Physically, Saturn is a sturdy, elderly man with a white beard and mustache. His distinct appearance includes white dreadlocks hidden under a flat black hat, and a scar crossing diagonally over his left eye. He dresses in a black suit, complemented by a dark purple tie, a white collared shirt, and black pants, always carrying a walking cane.

Unusually for a World Noble, Saturn doesn't wear a resin bubble over his head outside of Mary Geoise, except within his quarters while sailing. The enigmatic figure Imu seems to be the only person with higher authority than the Five Elders. Saturn's combat abilities remain a mystery, although his scar implies involvement in past confrontations. Confident in their might, the Elders once met with Shanks, one of the Four Emperors, without any guards. Saturn possesses a unique ability to transform into a horned creature, withstanding attacks even from powerful foes like Sabo. In an event involving Nefertari Cobra, Saturn and the other Elders brandished their influence, receiving orders from Imu and orchestrating their actions. He also joined forces with Marine Admiral Kizaru during a mission to eliminate Dr. Vegapunk, expressing regret over the circumstances surrounding it. Overall, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn's enigmatic character adds to the intrigue surrounding the Five Elders and their far-reaching authority in the One Piece world.

• Saturn is the sixth planet in the real-life Solar System, named after a Roman god. Fittingly, the Japanese term for the Five Elders includes the character 星, which means "star" or "planet", and is included in the Japanese names of planets.
• Interestingly, the planetary bodies which follow Saturn (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto), all share their names or etymologies with the three Ancient Weapons in the One Piece world.
• Saturn's surname may be based on the musician Jerry Garcia of the band Grateful Dead, who looks similar to the character.
• Saturn's appearance may be inspired by the Italian general and patriot Giuseppe Garibaldi, one of Italy's "fathers of the fatherland". This includes his facial hair, cylindrical hat, and walking cane clutched with both hands.
