I'm curious if both were immune due to their devil fruits. I love how chopper just casually taps the giant and they get reversed back to normal, something is definitely going on with his fruit. Forest god doesn't seem so unlikely now. I think it's his rumble ball.

When they were introduced, he said they "Disrupt the wavelength" of the devil fruit. It also seems to work on minks, so maybe it has a beneficial side-effect with domi reversi. So it was chopper himself that undemoned the giants, must be something with the human human fruit. Also, loki and luffy are immune to domi reversi, seems like the homeland theory was wrong, since imu tried on luffy and it failed on loki, and I doubt it's a power or haki thing since it worked on rocks. It's probably also because of their devil fruits, nika and nidhogg can resist imu's power somehow.
I get why you’re saying that but luffy is clearly quite angry in this fight because of brook and ussop so I don’t think the reason is that it doesn’t work on someone who is calm. I think it’s unique to luffy and loki, or more particularly their mythical god fruits. Could be awakened devil fruits? I'd really like it that chopper being in rumble ball monster point they actually drew him eating a rumble ball, which they haven't done in a long while like they didnt against the queen fight he sorta had.
