Imu explicitly stated, "A dominant ruler doesn't sully his hands." Because of this, there is no way Imu is going to throw down with Luffy or Loki directly right now. He’s exactly the type of villain to either corrupt Loki or summon a massive threat to stall them while he hauls ass out of there. Don't expect a genuine, all-out fight against Imu for at least another 1–2 years.
The Elbaf Showdown: Matchups & Mechanics
If there is a final battle in the Elbaf arc, it's likely shaping up to be Luffy (and potentially Ragnir) vs. a Domi Reversi'd Loki, or whatever summoned monster is strong enough to handle both Nika and Nidhogg at the same time. No one is taking on that 2v1 unless it's directly tied to claiming the One Piece, or they are literally pulled through a pentagram.
Here is why Luffy has the upper hand:
The Power Gap: Loki already tried blitzing Luffy, only to realize it was completely ineffective. Luffy has casually mentioned multiple times that he can just beat Loki up if he acts out.
The Lightning Counter: A Domi Reversi'd Nidhogg would normally be a massive handful, even for Luffy. However, Luffy’s immunity to lightning gives him the perfect opening to strike.
The Reversi Condition: Victims of this state usually want to be defeated when they temporarily regain their senses, which plays perfectly into Luffy's hands.
The Ragnir Factor: Ragnir is a wildcard here it's still up in the air whether he will sit this fight out or tag-team with Luffy.
Side Note on Gunko: Since her character arc is still unresolved, it's highly doubtful Oda is going to permanently obliterate her body here.
Luffy's True Nature vs. The "Nika" Prophecy
As much as a completely serious Gear 5 Luffy is incredibly hyped, there needs to be a moment where he flat-out tells Imu that he has no idea who or what "Nika" is. It would perfectly encapsulate his character. He should just acknowledge that he's out here liberating people, toppling the government, and pulling off the impossible not because of some grand agenda or because he understands his powers, but simply because it's his innate nature to do so.
