How kind of the esteemed great one to spare zoro and hajrudin by blowing them up instead of cutting their limbs off. He knows explosions don't hurt in one piece what a merciful ruler.  Loki standing over imu is so damn cool. So i guess imu's size would be around kaido/big mom? Smaller than giant, but way bigger than human. Knowing oda, he's probably like a little taller than the likes of kaido/big mom/whitebeard. What a cool showing for imu, i'm curious what those omens do. We’re in the endgame fellas. The final boss, the actual final boss, has come down to play. The only objective now: survive. The saving grace seems to be that imu is on a time limit.

The final boss is blackbeard. This is just the warmup.  Why do people think this? I've never understood it. I get the scene where oda portrays him and luffy as total opposites, but i genuinely don't see where he has been built up as the end stage final boss. He doesn't even come off as truly evil, he's ruthless by pirate standards but is he worse than kaido or big mom?

He is also for sure an enemy of the world government. I see him either teaming up with luffy or working in parallel with luffy in the end game. I don't see where he has been built up as luffy's arch nemesis. There's like nothing between the two of them.  Blackbeard has the most personal conflict with luffy of any individual character because he captured ace. Luffy instantly attacked him at impel down and is clearly still mad about it in dressrosa. No one else has been given this level of visceral hatred by luffy, including akainu (the guy who actually killed ace) or members of cp9 (who captured robin).

So are like, half the arc villains luffy has defeated. What is being missed here is that blackbeard very obviously has plans for what he wants to do after the world government is overthrown, and there's no signs he actually wants to improve the lives of random people. Just ending the series with a bunch of new kaido/big mom level tyrants rising up is kind of antithetical to what luffy has been doing this entire time in the series.
