That was a surprisingly brutal chapter for one piece. We're really slowly approaching the endgame now.  Waiting a decade was worth his, this guy is made of aura. And he brings his own boss music! I’m also glad he isn’t just another fancy celestial. For all we know now, imu is an at least 300 800 yrs old warrior king, a stuffy suit wouldn’t have fit that. The singing houses are interesting might be a tell that his powers, like big mom’s have something to do with soul manipulation. Shouldn't he be at least 800 years old and not 300?

Also my thought on the singing houses is haki. The voice of all things some people can hear. Maybe his haki is so improved that everyone can hear and see it. I hope i'm not the only one that sees a resemblance to enel here.  The circle thing is probably influenced by the same origin as enel's raijin's drums but i think imu's is more likely a reference to older depictions of angelic halos where the ring is behind the head instead of on top of it.

Like he took a traditional halo, made it demonic with black flames and eyes and then put a japanese spin on it by making it bigger and appear to originate around the neck instead of the back of the head. The eye locations also invokes the feel of the individual drums. In any case my main point is i think the connection between imu and enel is their supposed divinity but i don't know if it goes further than that. In a similar vein, if some other character's design had a hagoromo doesn't mean i would assume it is related to nika or gear 5. I would assume it was suppose to be divine or mystical in some way.
